Antique 1915 Society Circus Program Rochester New York Public Health Fundraiser
Antique 1915 Society Circus Program Rochester New York Public Health Fundraiser. This original program comes from the “Society Circus, ” a high-society charitable event held in Rochester, New York, circa 1915. It was organized by the Rochester Public Health Association as a benefit to support public health efforts-most notably education and treatment related to tuberculosis and child hygiene. This was not a commercial circus, but a full theatrical production starring local Rochester citizens, including doctors, civic leaders, and prominent families. The ringmaster was Mr. Culver, and the cast included over 70 named performers. The program features a full lineup of creative displays, such as. “Beating Them to a Frazzle” – a spoof on Smithsonian exhibitions. Scroodub Plays at Golf – comedic local satire. Aerial acts, animal parodies, and humorous sideshows. Supported Rochester’s early public health movement. Reflects civic engagement of upper-class citizens in the 1910s. Includes ads for local businesses Selden Car, Hotel Seneca, Merchants Bank, etc. Printed by Union and Advertiser Press, Rochester, NY. Loose-bound with original red cord. 12.5″ tall by 8.25″ wide. Wonderful graphic elements including a circus clown, stunt rider, and black poodle. A rare and charming artifact from Rochester’s social and medical history-ideal for collectors of antique ephemera, vintage circuses, or New York regional memorabilia. All our items are kept in a smoke-free and pet-free environment. We take great pride in the safe packaging we provide for every item we sell.

Barnum & Bailey Elephant Parade Howdahs Antique Cars 1917 Original Photo
An original 7×5 antique photo from a large archive of Ringling Bros. And Barnum & Bailey Circus photos acquired from the estate of a collector. This is a unique antique/vintage silver gelatin photograph — it is not a modern print. Photo Overview A magnificent 1917 street-view photograph captures the Barnum & Bailey herd of more than a dozen elaborately caparisoned Asian elephants, each bearing jeweled blankets and canopied howdahs, marching trunk-to-tail past a touring automobile and tree-lined homes during the circus’s traditional parade through town. A uniformed mahout rides the lead elephant while the rest of the column stretches into the distance, perfectly conveying the scale and spectacle that greeted American neighborhoods on show day. Before the afternoon and evening performances, Barnum & Bailey-and later the combined Ringling Bros. And Barnum & Bailey Circus-always staged a free parade to advertise their arrival, often stopping traffic and drawing crowds in every city along the rail route. 1917 was one of the last seasons before the two circuses merged in 1919, and images of the full elephant herd with ornate Indian-style howdahs are scarce because many original negatives were lost in subsequent fires. Secure this striking relic of America’s Golden Age of the circus today and add instant conversation-starting history to your collection. Text Present Back, center: ELEPHANTS-WITH-FLOWDAHS-BARNUM-BAILEY 1917. Condition : Good to very good vintage condition. Please see photos for scans of the surface. Photo may have natural curling or other imperfections from age.

1920’s Antique Tin Windup EINFALT / KELLERMAN Balloon man Vendor w/ Mickey Mouse. Arm does go up and down slightly, due to grommet loose. Otherwise it would be. Fine and would slow the spring a little. At the moment it works too fast. You can see the pin in the back is in place. Minor wear for a toy from the 1020’s/1930’s. Mickey mouse in bag Maybe a new piece. I checked the printing on the metal. And the printing is a bit different. So not sure if it’s a replacement. Also the eye does go back and forth just fine. Wonderful Graphics, very bright.
