CDV of a young woman with several objects at her feet, including a ball of yarn, and a sign that reads, “Nothing Without Labor”. She is holding a pencil or pen between her toes! Written on the back is, “Compliments of your old Harrisburg friend, Lizzie”. I believe her name was Lizzie L. Sturgeon, she had limited to no use of her arms, but was able to write, knit, and create objects with her feet, like Ann E. Leak, although I believe images of Lizzie are even harder to find. She definitely appeared in sideshows/circuses in the 1890s, not sure if she was doing so yet at the time this photo was taken c. CDV is overall in VG antique condition with the bottom of the mount being slightly trimmed. About 4″ x 2.5″.

Antique Painted Canvas Fred G. Johnson 5 Legged Sheep Carnival Sideshow Banner
This is an Antique Painted Canvas Fred Johnson 5 Legged Sheep Carnival Sideshow Banner. Fred Johnson / O’ Henry Tent and Awning Co. Are some of the most desirable Early 20th Century carnival sideshow banner artworks. It is LARGE measuring over 9 foot 6 inches wide and 5 feet tall… Nice condition with one hole by the first E in legged. Still has the very durable attachment corner hangers. This was likely the lower half of a larger banner, but it is still a great piece and a terrific example of Americana… Tough to find these in any condition. Johnson January 1892, Chicago, Illinois – 11 May 1990, Sun City, Arizona was a prolific sideshow banner artist whose career spanned 65 years. His banner paintings were displayed at the Chicago World’s Fair of 1933, called A Century of Progress, and by circuses such as Ringling Brothers, Barnum & Bailey, and Clyde Beatty. He has been called the “Picasso” of circus art.
