Ruth Duncan and two smaller boys. Ruth was known as The Magnificent Giantess. The two boys are Zach Miller Jr and Chief Georgie. Ruth Duncan (born 1907) was known as The Magnificent Giantess and Ruth Heath (after her marriage) and was often billed at 7 feet 1 inch in height. She appeared with Robinson Brothers, Sells Floto Circuses and the 101 Ranch Show. Her real height was probably’only’ about 6 feet 5 inches. This photo is fantastic and it was taken by Atwell Studios in Chicago and then used for advertising and promoting through items such as postcards. Two original 1870s CDV of performing birds and their trainer… No doubt “professional performers” considering the photographer, Eisenmann, who was famous for his photos of sideshow and circus personalities. A very rare set! The CDV with the trainer in it is slightly trimmed (dimensions are 3.75″ x 2.5″). Rare original CDV, 4″ x 2.5″, in very good antique condition with some light mount edge wear. This is a difficult to find Eisenmann image. Condition: Image looks good, although there is some moisture related condition issues, including some waviness to the mount and separation of the paper layers of the mount, in the bottom 1/3 or the image or so.
