A pair of freestanding early carvings with an unique look. I suspect they started life related to the circus or carnival. Old grunge surface having dry paint in an oxblood red, blueish green and a gold color that has sort of old gold gilt like appearance. The original gesso base covering can be seen peeping through where the paint is missing giving a nice overall look.. No major damage, a small corner section on a plinth has come loose years ago but someone thought well enough to save the piece {see photos}. A pair of wonderful decorative folk art objects. Found in an outbuilding of a recent estate.. A fresh New England find. Still dirty and tad dusty. Truly a great find…. Measurements: Base 7″ x 7″ x 15-1/2 Tall.
