Battersby was a celebrated figure in the Victorian era’s traveling exhibitions, representing the public fascination with human curiosities during the golden age of the circus and dime museums. This genuine CDV was produced by Greenwald & Cliffinger Photographic Artists, known for their high-quality portrait work during the era. The photo measures approximately 2 3/8″ wide by 4″ long, standard for CDVs of the period.
