Antique Schoenhut Buffalo or Bison Humpty Dumpty Circus toy. Legs and head are jointed. He is beautifully painted, His tail is made of painted cord. There is a shallow crack under his beard, not visible from the front.
Very rare CDV of the photographer, Moses Harris of Gamlingay in Cambridgeshire. He had a photographic salon at Gamlingay and a travelling riding circus, worked by steam.
You may have seen this on websites- these are the actual photos! Also visible are crowds of people attending, the huge tents of the circus, and the old Seattle buildings in the background such as the First Baptist Church on 4th Avenue.
She dates to the 1920’s to the late 1940s. She stands 7 tall, and has her little celluloid cane and foil over cardboard hat. She has a little silky hula type skirt, and is wearing just feathers!
This is one of the more difficult to find poses of them. The cabinet card is 6.5″ x 4.25″ with soiling and mount wear. It’s in overall good or better antique condition.
