Antique Gibbs Chromolithograph Pony Circus Wagon#53 Dated 1910
Hello, for sale is an original Pony Circus Wagon #53. Manufactured by the Gibbs Mfg. Out of Canton, Ohio. This scarce toy was only produced for 1 year (1910) because of fragility issues. This model is made of wood and tin and feature lithographic images of circus performers and animals. Measures 17 long and 7 tall. Surprisingly good antique condition, showing expected wear consistent with age and use as pictures depict. One side of the wagon has litho loss and light rust at top. The piece does function as intended with all wheels rolling and horses legs prancing in a synchronized motion. Colored are still bright and cheerful. A fabulous example of a pre WW1 toy. Wild American Flag Circus Crazy Quilt Barnum & Bailey Pennant Dated 1909
ANTIQUE CRAZY QUILT w BARNUM & BAILEY PENNANT DATED 1909 & AMERICAN FLAG. This is a very unusual Crazy Quilt as it has a felt pennant with the words “Barnum & Bailey’s Greatest Show on Earth 1909″ in salmon colored felt with glued on glitter. It’s HAND PIECED by several different hands using cotton, silk, velvet and wool fabrics in various shapes placed in blocks with cotton fabrics as backing. Each piece is surrounded by Turkey Track stitching in different colors of embroidery floss. Several pieces have florals, and one piece has a small silk American flag attached with French knots. Many of the pieces have the initials of the makers. The edges of the quilt have treadle sewing machine stitching, but there is no binding, and a few velvet pieces have damage. The size is 86″ by 80″. A wonderful example of imagination and handwork. We sell only clean American made antique quilts! Anyone can sell quilts, but. Few can professionally hand launder them as we do! Antique wooden Schoenhut Humpty Dumpty circus toys, dated about 1900. Beautiful collection with rare accessories and cute monkey. Size monkey approx 7.8″, diameter wood ripe approx 3.9″, length wooden lance approx 6.1″, blue & yellow podium height approx 2.7″, height octogonal black podium approx 1.1″, height white podium approx 2.7″, diameter red artist platform approx 2.1. The antique Schoenhut accessories are wonderful for your early Humpty Dumpty Circus, it makes a lot of fun to decorate with this cute items. The accessories are original painted and in very good condition with fery few traces of use (tiny rubs). The monkey is beautifully painted and very expressive. He was loved by his children, his joints are loose, however he can stand on his own if placed carefully. His original antique clothes show age wear (holes, felt loss), no odours, from non-smoking home. Monkey without cracks, no chips, no repairs, original painted, his back shows colour loss.
