Circus cabinet photo Jugglers The Ader Brothers Boys back to back Juggling
Cabinet photo of Circus Jugglers The Ader Brothers (at the time this photo was taken, they had added another performer to their group and named themselves The Ader Trio though only two of the three in the group at thew time are pictured). This cabinet photo shows two boys in costume who are back to back with the back of their heads nearly touching. The boys are not only juggling pins in the air but they are exchanging them from one boy to the other as you can see two pins in the air above both their heads. If they were just juggling their own pins, those ones in the air would come crashing down on their heads. The back of the mount has handwriting identifying these boys as being part of the Ader Trio which were a family of jugglers from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Condition – used/preowned, please read the condition section. Location – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Size (including mount) – 5 and 1/8 inches wide and 7 and 3/16 inches high.

Very Rare Circus Sideshow Cabinet Photo Barnum's Unzie The Circassian Albino
VERY RARE CIRCUS SIDESHOW CABINET PHOTO – BARNUM’S “UNZIE” THE CIRCASSIAN ALBINO MAN – “Unzie” the Aboriginal Albino man was brought by P. Barnum to the United States and would become one of his long running sideshow attractions. Most likely one of the most famous of P. Barnum’s performers with Albinism in circus history. Unzie was a major sideshow attraction, but cabinet cards of him are rather rare to find today. The image is in superb antique condition and taken by the York Photo Gallery. CONDITION: Please view my detailed photos for the actual condition of the image and as part of my description. The print remains in excellent condition with only a few minor spots. The mount is also in very good condition with only one tiny bump to the bottom right corner. The photographer’s stamp appears on the front and the backside has no marks. A rare and top quality image for your 19th Century Circus collection.

Satow Cabinet Card Shanghai China Austere Women with Parasol in Rickshaw. The cabinet card dates to the late 19th Century. What makes this photograph important and not your typical Caucasian woman in a rickshaw in Shanghai is the curious crowd in the background. The Chinese onlookers seem to be fascinated with the unusual scene unfolding and give the portrait a sense of immediacy. Size: 4.25 x 6.5 in. SATOW was a Shanghai-based portrait, landscape and general photographer. He had a commercial studio at P. 469 Nanking Road, Shanghai (near the Horse Bazaar), also at another time, a studio at 347 Nanking Road. He photographed the Shanghai Amateur Circus, for an album, in c. Forty-four of his images of the sights of Shanghai were published in. Charles Darwent mentions that Mr. Satow took some of the photographs in Darwent’s Shanghai guidebook. Shanghai by Satow were also published as post cards. Source: Historical Photographs of China.
