Pair of Horses with Intricate Details, Hand Carved. Just being honest these are very old. I don’t know if they are bone or stone. On the horse that has her head bowed on her right side blanket there is a small place that looks like a chip but due to the coloring it had to have been done during the carving.
I’m not confident what they were used for. They are wooden and hand carved. I’m told by my antique person that these are from the LATE 1800’s, but I don’t have an exact year.
I don’t recognize the pair and could not find another example of this image online, as hard as I tried. I picked up a decent sized collection of these sideshow people images. Quite a few were on this pink mount with blank backs. A note that was with the collection said that many were TEST SHOTS for the famous photographer Eisenmann. That might explain why I could not find other examples, and why the backs are blank.
