RARE CIRCUS CDV – THE NORWEGIAN GIANT 8′ – 2 & HIS WIFE – TAKEN BY EISENMANN – You are considering a very tall circus giant who stood 8 feet, two inches in height and towers over his wife in this photo by the legendary photographer, Charles Eisenmann. Here is in this CDV is The Norwegian Giant. Penciled notations are the back of the mount along with Eisenmann’s backstamp. A great addition for your American Circus photo collection. A great condition image of a famous giant captured by a renown photographer. Good luck to my winner. CONDITION: Please view my detailed photos for the actual condition of the image and as part of my description. The CDV is in excellent good condition. He is seated in a showman’s way, a precedent set by Barnum so many years before. Religion as the promoter’s gimmick to make Finch more palatable to a white audience is notable. Important Americana for that reason. Strong development & contrast on postcard photo stock w/ no back marks. Corner wear w/ink stain reverse that does not carry through.
