This 8 tall wooden clown was probably made before 1920 and was part of the Humpty Dumpty Circus collection. The large wooden shoes and classic clamshell hands made these dolls unique. The original clothing on the doll is in excellent condition. There is white paint loss evident on the face, and the clown’s small ears are missing. The facial features on the face remain clear. This is a great clown to have in any collection, and one can have some fun if it is desired to touch up the missing white paint on the face. This item has been priced right.

Vintage Milton Bradley Clown Toss Game 4211. Very Rare – I could not find another like this. Vintage condition – has some wear and tear – soiling, missing color, tears – see photos – great graphics. There are three bars missing from the numbers. The board is weak above the clown’s head but is still together. The hinges are intact and it will still stand up. I do not have any of the pieces to this game. This game has wear – but is really great for the age. The instructions are printed on the back of the game. Original 1890s cabinet card of a clown, photographed by Elmer Chickering of Boston, Massachusetts. This was possibly the great George L. Fox, who was America’s first whiteface clown, or Hobart Dickinson, AKA “Gurgles the Clown”. Rare in any case! Dimensions are 6.5″ x 4.25″. Condition is good or better with foxing, as shown.
