RARE Fulmer Estate B&W PRESS PHOTO PACK 1950s MILLS Bros CIRCUS Elephants COA
ONE OF A KIND PRESS PHOTO PACK WITH NEGATIVES from a very important estate in Florida! You get eight photos and the negatives to company them. All in the original packet. Based on the number of this packet and where it was stored in the estate I’m dating this between 1954 – 1955 is my best guess. I have included some history about the Mills Brothers Circus in the photos. The photos and the negatives are both in good condition for reprints. Photographer for the city of Clearwater for over half a century. Also a Navy enlisted photographer during WW2. After cleaning out the residence & studio in 2014, we have been sorting through over 100,000 photographs for the last 10 years, and are finally offering some of the best ones up for sale individually. We hope to Bring recognition to his life’s work as well as to find homes for the history of an entire city as documented by the city photographer. The photographs include everything you would’ve expected a city photographer to have been present for, from weddings, to new construction, aerial photographs, sporting events, school events, press photography, police, Jaycees, and a really nice, but VERY LIMITED collection of nude photographs from a nudist camp that is still in operation here today. Even more limited, there were a handful of war photographs and film that we were able to save, but it was not much as unfortunately for some reason, he had stored the war photographs outside where they were exposed to the weather, and sadly they had been completely destroyed. The photos that are being offered here were well preserved, found inside the home and studio, in a cool, dry, cellar type setting. This is quite a project for only two curators, so please follow us, and be patient as we slowly unveil the contents of this massive estate. And always, if you see something that you like, please make an offer!

RARE Trick Circus or Sideshow Horse by Swords Bros 1800s Composite Photo
Rare circa 1890 composite cabinet card showing a circus horse doing tricks, and holding signs. The sign in the middle says, “I CAN DO ANY TRICK”. 6.5″ x 4.25″ with blank back, as produced. Very good vintage condition overall; there’s a little crack in the image on the right side but this is just on the photo, it does not affect the mount, and it’s stable and flat. A little light but perfectly visible.

Rare Sideshow / Freak Carrie Akers Antique Cabinet Card Photo 1800s Barnum
Original cabinet card of Carrie Akers and her manager I believe.. Maybe her husband, billed as a “Midget Fat Lady”, and also, debatably, as’The Warthog. Akers was known as “Quarrelsome Carrie” in the sideshow community because of her volcanic temper. Handwriting on reverse has says: Carrie Akers Born in Virginia height 31 in weight 309 lbs age 27. I’ve once seen a variant of this rare cabinet card showing the man looking through the window at her. This cabinet card is 6.5″ x 4.25″ with blank back (other than the writing). It’s in very good antique condition with aging, staining and foxing, primarily on the back. If the condition of the back is a concern let me know. Here is some info found online: Every once in awhile, a Human Marvel comes along who is a multiple attraction… Few persons have actually encapsulated the characteristics of two separate traditional human marvel displays into one presentation. Carrie Akers was a double feature in the world of sideshow – she was both a midget and a Fat Lady. While the date of her birth is not certain, Carrie did hail from Virginian. She weighed a purported 309 pounds and stood only 34 inches tall. These traits qualified her as both a midget and a Fat Lady, thus a “double feature”. Unlike the usually jolly copious performers of her time Carrie, as evident in many of her cabinet cards, was considered a very sour and bitter person. So poor was her reputation that she was eventually shunned from the sideshow community and she had a serious falling out with P. Barnum – serious enough for the showman to drop the potentially profitable Carrie from his roster of performers. Furthermore, her unfortunate epithet of’The Warthog’ was given to her not only because of her dimensions but also due to this hot temper and extremely rude reputation. T exist a few rumors that Carrie was also becoming a legitimate bearded lady, whether via biological or gaffed means. This would have made her a triple feature in sideshow – however it appears that she retired from show business shortly after her problems with Barnum. Most of her cabinet photos date between 1888 and 1889 and few photos of her exist today. This indicates that her career was not a successful one, likely due to her gruff personality. Not much else is known about Carrie following her short career. However, if she had gotten a few tattoos she could very well have been a complete sideshow all on her own. (The Human Marvels website).

Wonderful Set and hard come by. Loved it to be it would be a way higher Value. Don’t miss a chance of the Circus for your collection. This is my guessing?? I COULD BE WRONG TOO. I could see this for Halloween. Elephant feel was a entrance display for Circus. The hand made wood device is not working, it look like it would swing a item back forth. Elephant be perfect moving like that. Hyphotic its painted really feel not right. I mean I guess ball of Elephant but it so small. Again I did Plugged item it in and it doesn’t work. Three other pieces must worked together on maybe a game. Hole one looks like for Tie prizes or something to or food? . Two other looked they work as one light hole matches up with the other. Light mount is detached right on could be easy fixed. It has maybe a small Speaker. Company started 1916 help time frame. This set is compress wood. Fun set to have bring me back to be a kid. All fun guessing right! Three set missing back piece or broken off. Elephant has the back slide over device. All have, age, Wear, Surface scratches, dirty over time, small chips and cracks. Elephant shows wear with small cracks near Screws. Item hold just fine even with cracks. Color could be off in picture, black is faded little. Best to look over pictures. Please zoom in with a touch screen. Ask for more pictures. I bought it a long time ago don’t have history to tell!!!! Research: Mallory Sonalert back of one item. Company started in 1916 how got time frame. Great addition to any Collection of Oddities, Steampunk Display, Art, Photography and for Movie making. Gift to Doctor or Dentist. Most item not for kids. Handle with care and be safe around item. Discount is different for each order. Large items I always pack with care. I mean all item with care. All listing have no return. International has no return make sure you understand listing before paying, but if I listed wrong contact with in a week after getting item I will work on making it right with you. Alway best to contact if something comes up : Thanks. Please, take the time to look over pictures for an accurate description. Color is sometimes a little off or out of focus, if that is the case, please ask for more photos for condition. Please look over picture probably better than words. Don’t Assume display items are a part of the sell. If I dont mention on listing its just display. Example I used medical tray, manakins, poster, books, hands it all for fun of display and Art. Don’t Assume size, shape, condition, wear. Please take your time before purchasing. If I leave something out dont Assume. I do have a pet in home, in case for allergies. Most Item are old antique smell might be bad for allergies. Not a way to get time out and age. Sorry if I miss a cat hair, they love to work with me. Antique are dust off lightly, not a professional cleaner of antiques rather not try and make sure item is not devalued. Might have dust, age, wear, antique smell or rust. I try my best to tell if there is any of this. Looked over pic and asked? Zoom in pictures if you can. About Blue Raven Nest. 100% feedback for 5 years.
