Original Antique Fairground sign art from Carters Steam Fair themselves. I also have the matching “propeller” panel also available for sale, please check my other listings as I have lots of signs and panels available! Also multiples if needed for restaurant / bar fit outs etc. This is a stunning hand painted Carters Steam Fair panel depicting an RAF Bomber regiment which was bought direct from Carters themselves. The panel is around 40 years old and was hand painted by the incredible artist Anna Carter from the Carter family. It’s off the chair-o-plane ride and has since been replaced by a newer panel so this one can be saved, hence this is now for sale. Dimensions – 137.5 x 96 (at widest point) x 2.5cm. This unique piece comes from the Carter family’s private collection and comes with a letter of authenticity to prove the provenance. It is a unique antique hand painted item and from the most famous steam fair in the world. Don’t miss out as this will likely be snapped up by a collector never to be seen again! This is the genuine article – NOT reproduction!! It’s got some good age but of course therefore has some age related marks and patina from years of use on the ride. Antique CARTE DE VISITE (CDV) Photograph. Photography Studio: Brand’s Art Gallery. Subject: Arthur James Caley (1824 – February 12, 1889) was known professionally as Colonel Routh Goshen. Goshen gained fame by appearing in P. S American Museum and Barnum? S Circus as the tallest man in the world. His advertised measurements were 7? And 620 pounds, when in reality, he was most likely no more than 7? This CDV displays the large man gazing solemnly at the viewer from a seated position dressed as his Middle Eastern alias. His military uniform features elaborate braided epaulettes, various medals, a plumed helmet and a decorative sword. Appears to be signed by Colonel Routh Goshen in pencil on back. 4.25″ x 2.5″.
