SCARCE ANTIQUE SCHOENHUT HUMPTY DUMPTY CIRCUS PAINTED EYE OSTRICH. The ostrich shows signs of wear, scratches, dings, paint loss, ect. One of its feet is a little loose, could possibly tighten by tapping the little nails in, (I don’t want to do it as I don’t want to damage it). One of the legs isn’t super tight like the neck and other leg but the ostrich still stands. Displays nicely and would make a great addition to any collection. Scarce in any condition, but this one is very restorable. It’s 17 long not including the crank. The phonograph winds up and runs, but it’s noisy. One of the top benches is missing 1 of one end. It broke at the slot where the band member slides in. The back panel is broken and needs to be glued. The rubber on the rims has melted probably because it was in a hot attic at some time. Looks like just 1/4 round rubber. The bottom of the lid is missing a 1/2 strip of wood. Not sure how the brake engaged the drive gear. I believe it was a wire linkage of some kind, but that’s not there. Shouldn’t take much to restore this great old toy.
