Large Antique Barnum & Bailey Circus Elephant with Monkey on Head Figure, 1920’s. This Antique Barnum and Bailey Circus Elephant with a Monkey perched atop its head is a replica of a lead elephant in the Barnum and Bailey Circus parade. The figure was originally part of a set that included a wagon being driven by a clown. Our listing is only for the elephant. The figure is made of a resin material fabricated to mimic carved wood or papier mâché. The metal chains that were originally attached to the circus wagon are still attached but can easily be removed, if desired. The elephant stands at approximately 14 ½” tall, 14″ wide, and 7 ½ deep. The circus elephant is in very good antique condition with only a few chips to the paint, as is to be expected with a display item of this age.
