We do our best to describe each item in detail and provide pictures that feature any defects or issues that we are aware of. We are not experts, just collectors and we welcome questions and comments. Here is a pair of antique Schoenhut wooden circus elephants and two chairs. They have two painted eyes. One elephant shows more wear and loss of paint, both are missing their trunk tips. Both have good, tight joints. The chairs are in solid condition, one shows more wear and loss of paint than the other. This is nice old stuff. Other buyers, please let us know if you would like an invoice. The calculator is usually right on, based on the size and weight entered. We only ask that you give us a chance to make it right before you leave negative or neutral feedback or low DSR ratings.

RARE Fulmer Estate B&W PRESS PHOTO PACK 1950s MILLS Bros CIRCUS Elephants COA
ONE OF A KIND PRESS PHOTO PACK WITH NEGATIVES from a very important estate in Florida! You get eight photos and the negatives to company them. All in the original packet. Based on the number of this packet and where it was stored in the estate I’m dating this between 1954 – 1955 is my best guess. I have included some history about the Mills Brothers Circus in the photos. The photos and the negatives are both in good condition for reprints. Photographer for the city of Clearwater for over half a century. Also a Navy enlisted photographer during WW2. After cleaning out the residence & studio in 2014, we have been sorting through over 100,000 photographs for the last 10 years, and are finally offering some of the best ones up for sale individually. We hope to Bring recognition to his life’s work as well as to find homes for the history of an entire city as documented by the city photographer. The photographs include everything you would’ve expected a city photographer to have been present for, from weddings, to new construction, aerial photographs, sporting events, school events, press photography, police, Jaycees, and a really nice, but VERY LIMITED collection of nude photographs from a nudist camp that is still in operation here today. Even more limited, there were a handful of war photographs and film that we were able to save, but it was not much as unfortunately for some reason, he had stored the war photographs outside where they were exposed to the weather, and sadly they had been completely destroyed. The photos that are being offered here were well preserved, found inside the home and studio, in a cool, dry, cellar type setting. This is quite a project for only two curators, so please follow us, and be patient as we slowly unveil the contents of this massive estate. And always, if you see something that you like, please make an offer!

ABOUT PHOTOGRAVURE: Photogravure is an intaglio printmaking process utilizing a carefully etched copper plate made from the original negative/image. Prints are made by pressing suitable paper heavily down upon the inked copper plate which has been intricately etched to varying depths corresponding with the actual tonality of the original negative, This precisely etched plate combined with a fine “honeycomb” screen controls the amount of ink to be transferred to the paper at any given point in direct proportion to the variation of tone in the original image. The result is a true continuous tone print which combines many qualities of a traditional silver based photograph with a tactile feel similar to an etching, engraving or lithograph. Rich in tonal detail, the photogravure process produces delicately rendered shades for a look which is unique in the world of photographic print making. In the early to mid 1900’s photogravure was selected (when budgets allowed) for special high quality publishing and portfolio projects, but due to its significant expense and labor, the process is rarely seen today. From Man Ray and Ruth Bernhard to Brett Weston and Ansel Adams, many of the world’s most renowned photographic masters have published their images in the rich photogravure process.
