Self proclaimed as the “World’s Greatest Midgets, ” Noble George Washington and Mary Jane Winner. I believe this may have been captured in Monticello, Iowa, sometime around 1904. They traveled with Ringling Bros in the 1890s. Image was rescued and professionally conserved on antique board that is appropriate for the era. Measures about 4.5 x 6.25 inches.

I don’t recognize the pair and could not find another example of this image online, as hard as I tried. I picked up a decent sized collection of these sideshow people images. Quite a few were on this pink mount with blank backs. A note that was with the collection said that many were TEST SHOTS for the famous photographer Eisenmann. That might explain why I could not find other examples, and why the backs are blank.
For sale is a WW1 First Division Circus Photograph Picture Montabaur Germany Antique Photo in Used condition. Photo is stuck to the back of a typewriter certificate which was issued in 1918. Photograph has wear around the corners/edges – hole through one corner.
