I don’t recognize the pair and could not find another example of this image online, as hard as I tried. I picked up a decent sized collection of these sideshow people images. Quite a few were on this pink mount with blank backs. A note that was with the collection said that many were TEST SHOTS for the famous photographer Eisenmann. That might explain why I could not find other examples, and why the backs are blank.

VERY RARE Signed Antique Photo African American Minstrel Circus Wire Performer
Very rare photo of the Great Layton, an African American wire balancing performer in the late 1800s and early 1900s, shown here doing his act, with his advertising banner visible on the left. Layton appears to have signed the back of the photo in ink. I couldn’t find much info about him after that time. This is the only cabinet photo I have ever seen for sale of this performer. It was probably one of a small handful made as part of a promo for a small show. This listing shows a scan of an article I found online. The clipping is shown in this listing for reference only, and the original article is not included. My scan shows the front and back of the same photo, plus the scan of the article. Image including its mount is approximately 4.5″ x 3.5″. This item is in the category “Collectibles\Photographic Images\Photographs”. The seller is “jack_mord” and is located in this country: US. This item can be shipped to United States, Denmark, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Vatican City State, Nauru, Wallis and Futuna, Poland, Tonga, San Marino, Ireland, Netherlands, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Iceland, Spain, Macedonia, Estonia, Belgium, Israel, Liechtenstein, Bermuda, Vanuatu, Albania, Italy, Monaco, Switzerland, Republic of Croatia, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, Portugal, Malta, Cyprus, Australia, Austria, Gibraltar, Hong Kong, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Norway, Canada, Kiribati, Andorra, Greece, Romania, Greenland, Serbia, Montenegro, Japan, Lithuania, United Kingdom, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, Finland, Luxembourg, Western Samoa, France, Germany, Latvia.

Very Rare Circus CDV Chang & Eng Bunker Famous Barnum Siamese Twins Siam

Very Rare Circus CDV Chang & Eng Bunker Famous Barnum Siamese Twins Siam

Very Rare Circus CDV Chang & Eng Bunker Famous Barnum Siamese Twins Siam
Barnum’s most famous Siamese twins, Chang & Eng Bunker. In this circus collectable, you can clearly see the ligament at their abdomen that connected these two brothers. A previous owner at one point actually inscribed at the bottom of the mount with a metal stylist the words, “Siam Twins” which helps to date this CDV to a very early example. Like all of the CDV’s taken of the twins, there is no back mark or photographer. You are considering a rare photo of the most famous Siamese twins in history. They had a long career and history you can google if you wish to learn more. Good luck to all my fellow early American circus collectors landing this rarely seen photograph. CONDITION: Please view my detailed scan for the actual condition of the image and as part of my description. This early CDV of one of the first famous circus duos is in fine antique condition. The print has some fingerprints from when the image was fixed in the darkroom, but the mount remains in super condition for its age. Chang & Eng images are coveted because they started performing in the late 1830’s here in America and are considered the first major super stars of early American sideshow performers. This item is in the category “Collectibles\Photographic Images\Photographs”. The seller is “nic-o-matic” and is located in this country: US. Very Rare Circus Sideshow Cabinet Photo Barnum's Unzie The Circassian Albino

Very Rare Circus Sideshow Cabinet Photo Barnum's Unzie The Circassian Albino
VERY RARE CIRCUS SIDESHOW CABINET PHOTO – BARNUM’S “UNZIE” THE CIRCASSIAN ALBINO MAN – “Unzie” the Aboriginal Albino man was brought by P. Barnum to the United States and would become one of his long running sideshow attractions. Most likely one of the most famous of P. Barnum’s performers with Albinism in circus history. Unzie was a major sideshow attraction, but cabinet cards of him are rather rare to find today. The image is in superb antique condition and taken by the York Photo Gallery. CONDITION: Please view my detailed photos for the actual condition of the image and as part of my description. The print remains in excellent condition with only a few minor spots. The mount is also in very good condition with only one tiny bump to the bottom right corner. The photographer’s stamp appears on the front and the backside has no marks. A rare and top quality image for your 19th Century Circus collection. This item is in the category “Collectibles\Photographic Images\Photographs”.
