

SUPER RARE CDV – CIRCUS OWNER DAN RICE IN HIS UNCLE SAM OUTFIT & HOLDING A FLAG – You are considering an extremely rare CDV of the legendary Dan Rice; Circus owner, animal trainer, orator, clown and song & dance man. Dan Rice is also attributed to have created the persona of “UNCLE SAM, ” as his outfit suggests in this rare photo. From his comically large top hat to his stripped vest and pants with suspenders under his boots, you are looking at a major figure in entertainment history. Rice was so popular during his day, that politicians who jump on his bandwagon to attract more publicity, hence the expression was born, JUMP ON THE BANDWAGON. The CDV has excellent contrast, tonal range and sharpness. The mount is in fine condition minus two small clipped corners where the image was most likely inserted into an album at one time.
