Antique 30’s-40’s Rare Circus Elephant Table Lamp Cast Metal #186. The lamp has been tested works good. It has a on and off switch, it is stuck in the on position. The cord looks like it was changed not original. It looks like the original paint on the lamp was gold or bronze. Most of the paint is worn off accept a little at the bottom. The lamp base alone with out the shade measures 9-1/4″ tall x 9-1/2″ long and 3-1/2 wide. The shade is approx. 4-3/4″ wide x 5-1/4″ tall, with a 3-1/8 fitter. It looks to be made of Spelter/Pot Metal with a bronze color finish. The frosted shade is a mint/light green with an art nouveau pattern. Antique One -of-a-kind Cloisonne Lamp Chinese Circus Theme

In 50 years of collecting cloisonne, I have never seen anything like this. It appears to depict a troupe of Chinese circus performers or entertainers, maybe a parade of them. Jugglers, musicians, people on stilts, martial arts actors. In an unusual combination of colors – teal and light green and white. Made into a lamp. Green jade ball finial. We bought it from another antique dealer in the 80s. Base to finial, about 23″; cloisonne portion about 12″; about 6 diameter. Wiring is old and should be replaced before long (although we continue to risk wiring worse than this). Trying to send a shade in the same box is difficult, dangerous to the shade, and very expensive because of the bigger box. Neta has always liked antique lamps, and did well with them at the store.
