HE HAS SOME MARKS, STRING IS LITTLE LOOSE. HEAD STRING IS LOOSE. The wooden toy circus set was made ca. 1920 by the Schoenhut Toy Company in America. The Humpty Dumpty Circus, as it was known, was first produced in 1903 after the patent for the clown figure was granted.

THIS IS A VERY RARE ANTIQUE FIRST MODEL, TWO PART HEAD WITH PAPIER MACH FACE CLOWN, FROM THE VERY START OF THE SCHOENHUT HUMPTY DUMPTY CIRCUS IN 1903. HE IS IN ALL ORIGINAL CONDITION. HE HAS THE EARLY TWO PART FACE WITHOUT EARS WHICH IS HOW THEY WERE FIRST MADE, EARS CAME LATER. HE ALSO HAS THE EARLY FEET THAT ARE ROUNDED AND UPTURNED AT THE ENDS. HE IS IN PLAYED WITH, BUT GOOD, SOUND CONDITION, BUT HE IS 120 YEARS OLD! DESPITE THIS HIS STRINGING IS GOOD AND HE POSES WELL. HE IS 9/ 22.5 cm TO THE TOP OF HIS HAT. HIS COSTUME IS GRUBBY AND WORN IN PLACES AS YOU WOULD EXPECT AFTER 120 YEARS. HIS LADDER IS VERY OLD BUT THERE IS NO WAY OF TELLING HOW OLD, ie 1903 or a bit later, BUT IT IS NOT A MODERN ONE. This is a RARE, ANTIQUE. AN EARLY, FIRST MODEL c1906, (when monkeys were first introduced)TWO PART FACE MONKEY, IN VERY GOOD ORIGINAL PLAYED WITH CONDITION and the Ladder is included in the price. He is one of the earliest pieces from the Schoenhut Humpty Dumpty Circus which was first made in the U S A in 1903. He has;- A two part face ; original ears ; original silk hat trimmed with gold braid ; original tail; original costume which the moths have chewed a bit! It would have to be listed and take a week or two. He is 8.5/ 21.5 cm tall to the top of his hat. His stringing is good and he poses well. NB He has had his left foot repaired at the front which has been taken into account for the price. However I will consider sensible offers.
