Offered for this sale is a very interesting scrapbook form the 1914 Carnival and Convention of Safety hosted in Philadephia, PA. This scrapbook is the collected documents and correspondence of Mrs. Wilson who organized the fair which was a great success in Philadelphia. Floor plan for exhibits and letters from potential exhibitors and kudos from Politicians, The Boy Scouts, Philadelphia city officials etc. Make this the most important unpublished record of how and why this important event occurred while a war was raging in Europe, and factory culture was costing lives, cities and schools were vulnerable to disease and accidents. The majority of this scrapbook is filled with newspapers clippings from this important convention. Included are several programs of events and a few historical photographs of the exhibitors booths as well as other items. SIZE – 10″ x 15″. Antique Vaudeville Circus Act Scrapbook Circa 1900s With 59 Pages Very Rare Book. This is a very rare antique scrapbook with dozens of newpaper and magazine clippings of various Vaudeville and Circus Acts dating from the late C19th and early C20th. There are a total of 59 pages full of clippings in this 14″ x 11.5″ hardbound scrapbook. The scrapbook was part of the estate collection of Elgin and Ginger Fuller, a Seattle-based husband and wife Magic Act from the 1960s/70s known as The Deljons. The photos shown in this listing are just a mere sampling of the contents of this very unique scrapbook. We researched some of the acts featured in the scrapbook – many appear to now be quite obscure; but we were able to find records of the following acts. “4 Flying Banvards” (Photo #1) – A troupe of acrobats and aerialists who toured (mostly in the US) in the early C20th with The Ringling Brothers Circus. “The Marvelous Ferry The Human Frog” (Photo #6) – A contortionist circa 1901. “Jumpino DeOnzo” (Photo #8) – The Deonzo brothers jumping act circa 1901 video footage available on the internet. “Bimm, Bomm, Brrr” (Photo #10) – A three-clown novelty musical act circa 1900. In addition to the scrapbook, the three items shown in the last photo are also included in this lot two original antique photos and a large 11 3/8″ x 7″ antique postcard featuring the Curtis Theatre, Denver. And some other small pieces of ephemera and hand-written notes. This is a superb item for collectors of Vaudeville and Circus history!
