PLEASE READ FULL DESCRIPTION. DON’T HESITATE TO OFFER. Come one come all to see this beautiful Antique Pre-war Circus Seal with a Wooden Barbell Wind-up Tin Toy. This gorgeus little guy has been performing the same trick for 90 years or more. When he is wound up he rolls forward while the barbell spins around on top of his nose. He was made by a company in the United States named J. Chein (shown in picture #10 and #11). It’s colors are very nice. No noticeable fading anywhere. The lithographs are crisp and clean. There is very minimal wear consistent with age. The only noticeable flaw I see is on the left side of the seals neck area (shown and picture #12). His wind-up mechanism works well but he’s not winning any races anytime soon. He still scoots across the floor under his own power. Everything is 100% completely original with no replacement or missing parts. The barbells are also original and a beautiful red colored wood. Its rod that sticks out of the top of its nose and also the barbell rod are both completely straight. This beautiful little seal has a gorgeous face and quite an amazing circus ringmaster jacket complete with tails on. I would consider him in near mint condition based upon the very minor flaw seen in picture #12. The lithographs are very detailed and done in a beautiful way. He has a stationary key on his left hand side and it is completely original. It’s measurements are approximately (measurements taken with the barbell pointing forward to tail) 5 1/2in. L × 2 1/2in. W (including statonary key) × 4in. This dandy of an Antique Pre-war Near Mint J. Chein Circus Seal with Barbell Wind-up Tin Toy would be perfect for any animal lover, circus fan, and or any tin toy collector.
