An antique Victorian Art Nouveau style brass stepping circus horse double inkwell with pen rests. This is a really unusual and attractive ink stand, depicting a stepping circus horse with a bridle and saddle pad. The stand is made in Art Nouveau style, in that it has some line and floral detailing on the top. There are two brass inkwell pots which can be lifted out and have separate lids. There are two rests for pens at the back of the stand. The item is of quite good quality, but does not appear to have any makers marks. The horse figure itself is very nicely detailed. The stand measures about 10.25 inches (26 cm) in width, and about 9 inches (23 cm) in height. This piece is in very good condition for its age.
