Antique Mohair Elephant Pull Toy Metal Wheels 15 Early 1900s Steiff Circus. Wonderful early elephant pull toy, likely German or American, dating to the 1910s-1920s. Constructed with a mohair plush covering and mounted on a sturdy metal wheel base. Similar to and possibly a Steiff but unmarked. Came from the estate of an avid Steiff collector. 15″ long x 8″ wide x 10 tall. Original blue glass eyes with gentle expression. Mohair plush body with stitched trunk and ear details. Retains red felt saddle cloth. Four metal spoked wheels with wire axle supports. Hones age wear: mohair thinning in areas, minor seam wear, light rust to wheels (see photos). Still displays beautifully with authentic antique character. From a smoke-free home.
