1870's-1880's CIRCUS ACROBAT, CLOWN, OR POSSIBLY JESTER TINTYPE 3 1/2 x 2 3/8
Original circa 1870’s-1880’s tintype photo showing a man wearing a loose costume with diamond shaped decorations all over his costume. Also, he wears a tight cloth hat. From his outfit we are guessing that he was in the circus. We are thinking that he was probably an acrobat in the circus or a jester or clown. But, we are not certain. Measures 3 1/2 inches by 2 3/8 inches. There are a few minor flaws as usually found on most tintypes. The back shows minor age. There is a thin raised line below the man’s feet on the background. This is in the surface of the emulsion & occurred in the making. Otherwise, the front is very smooth & in nicer condition than most tintypes that are found. At the lower right edge area there is a lighter area in the photo. In the scan this looks like a small area missing off of the surface. But, in reality this is as made, & is a piece of cloth showing in the background when the photo was taken. This interesting photo came from an old Pennsylvania collection of tintypes which was formed over several decades. This item is inventory #9940. Is an estimate and the actual cost may differ. International Buyers – Please Note.

Antique Large Painted Cast Iron Lion / Tiger Head Possibly Circus Or Carnival
For your consideration we have a very cool vintage / antique painted cast iron lion or tiger head. This piece is large and heavy, weighing about 25 pounds. It has a place in the back where it would have been mounted somewhere. I cannot find any comparable items but the style and the mounting lead me to believe it was very possibly used in some circus or carnival of some sort. A super unique piece! In good vintage shape. The paint is still mostly intact. The back has one missing rivet where it would be mounted. Please see all photos for consideration as well. Measures about 10.5″ tall and 11″ wide. Thanks for looking and let me know if you have any questions!

Folk Art Wooden Carving. Described to me then as possibly an old circus wagon panel. It appears to portray Jesus, a Roman leader and a Native American Indian. It looks old but I do not have receipt or anything to document or verify the sellers description given to me when I bought it. I just thought it was cool. Elliott & Elliott is a reputable gallery that is still in business. Its 4 4 tall, and 11 inches wide. It weighs 21 pounds.
