2 Antique San Francisco Earthquake Circus side show 1 Cent photographs posters
For your consideration are two rather interesting items. They appear to be the instagram of the day back in 1906 or 1907. The are hand drawn posters on heavy board each with a photograph of the earthquake attached. One is out of the frame and one is framed. The unframed piece is 20 x 14 with many condition issues including soiling, discoloration, fading/toning, margin wear etc. It is, at best to be considered in fair condition. The framed piece is 23.5 x 15.5 in a period frame with trim that is blue that matches the poster. The photo in the frame is pretty good, but glued down for sure. The bold blue writing is on the poster that the photograph is glued to. The poster in this piece is very good. Really quite a interesting combination of photographic history, Americana, side show, and folk art. These seem to be one of kind pieces. 95 % of the items I sell are pre-owned, vintage, or antique. Every item I sell will have some signs of wear. The combination of photos and descriptions are my best effort to communicate the beauty, condition, and any defects. Rare STEIFF Felt Circus Monkey on Wheels Pull Toy. RARE early STEIFF brown wool felt monkey on metal frame with wooden wheels. This charming little fella has a jointed head with tan felt face and ears. His face has painted details, and includes. Black boot button eyes. He’s wearing a cap with pom-pom and ruffled collar with bell. There is extensive moth damage to felt on right side, mouth, head, and tail. Please contact me for further photos, if needed. Darkening, discoloration, and fading to felt. Brown glass button eyes are clear and intact. Missing original Steiff ear button. Extensive moth damage to felt on right side, mouth, head, and tail. Hole in base of hat. Armature wire is protruding at bottom of left rear foot. No loose seams or stitches. Softwood shavings or “excelsior” are undisturbed. 6 ” x 6″ x 4.
