Antique Circus Carnival Door Light Sign Advertising Camel Signed Oil Painted Art. Offered here is an amazing antique circus piece in need of restoration. This piece appears to be a door of some sort and has a beautiful painted camel on it. The wood door has an interesting shape and you can see the where it wouldve been mounted kind of like a door. It also has old light sockets around the outside and mustve looked stunning when light up in the golden age of circuses and carnivals. A helpful eBayer has identified it as a panel form a. And Antique Dentzel Carousel. It appears that the original panel painting of “caution” was painted over with this camel in order to jazz it up, or the caution has faded over time while the rest of the painting has not. Unfortunately, the oil painting portions have suffered damage over the years and need the care and skill of a restorer if you want the sign back in original condition though keeping it the way it is has it its own perks of knowing it has never been touched in terms of restoration as well. Well leave that up to you. I also do not think the light sockets (where present) are likely to still work. The piece has been signed (bottom right) but I cannot read the name of the artist that painted the camel. Bout 81″ tall and about 42″ wide at the widest point near the top.
