Antique Live Steam Toy Merry Go Round Vintage Tinplate Circus/Carnival Toy
For your consideration, here is an old toy from my collection that has truly been a pleasure to own. This is a small “Merry Go Round” that would have run off of a small live steam engine. For those that aren’t familiar though, the same pulley that ran this toy also has a tiny little handle so a child could spin it around by hand. This toy still works as it should, is displays wonderfully! I doubt I’ve ever had a more interesting conversation piece than my live steam toys. This is 100% original top to bottom with one possible exception, the flag is a little too bright, in my humble opinion, that is most likely a replacement. Certainly has never bothered me one bit. The toy sits about 7-1/2 tall to the top of the flag. The “canister” for lack of a better word on the bottom is approximately 3-1/4 diameter. This is exactly what it appears to be, a charming piece of the distant past that would have been a dream come true for some little one to own. Comes from my personal collection, out of a NON smoking home. Thank you for taking a look.
