Rare circa 1890 composite cabinet card showing a circus horse doing tricks, and holding signs. The sign in the middle says, “I CAN DO ANY TRICK”. 6.5″ x 4.25″ with blank back, as produced. Very good vintage condition overall; there’s a little crack in the image on the right side but this is just on the photo, it does not affect the mount, and it’s stable and flat. A little light but perfectly visible.
TINTYPE – 1/6 PLATE MR. SPARKLE PANTIES LIKELY CIRCUS EQUESTRIAN TRICK RIDER – As a long time collector of circus photography, I guarantee you are looking at an early circus performer and most likely an an equestrian trick rider. I have seen and own many other images of men of the circus wearing the sequence pants and I like to call this one, Mr. Judging from his more fitted jacket, ascot and high riding boots he has all the indicators of performing with horses or other animals as a trainer. CONDITION : Please view my detailed photos for the actual condition of the image and as part of my description. The sixth plate tintype contains excellent contrast, tonal range and superb sharpness. As mentioned above, the image is in excellent condition and is contained a nice condition paper cartouche sleeve with an old set of pinholes present. Rare content makes this tintype highly desirable.

Rare original antique cdv photo of legless lady trapeze artist, which is possibly a trick photo. It is overall in good condition with some fading and other signs of wear and age. The card measures approximately 4 1/8 inches by 2 1/2 inches and most likely dates to sometime around the late 1800’s. Please look at the scans to further note the condition.
Carte de Visite photo of Penny Farthing High Wheel Bicycle Trick Rider Harriet ” Big Hattie ” Martell (sometimes spelled Martel). In this photo, Hattie is balancing on her high wheel bicycle whose wheels are not propped up in any way and she is holding the handbars to her bicycle in her left hand. Harriet would get the nickname Big Hattie as she grew into her teens where she blossomed into a tall young lady. She often performed with her father, whose name I believe was George, and her brother, whose name I think was Peter. The three performed as The Martell Family whose specialty was penny farthing high wheel bicycle trick riding much like their contemporaries, The Stirk Family.
