It depicts 10 views of the arrival, set-up and life of the circus in a country town. The views shown include the raising of the tent, part of the procession (horses and trick riders), a field day for the amateur photographer, elephants, horses, and the performance. It is very large (double folio size), measuring approximately 22 x 16 inches (56 x 40.5 cm). The picture fills most of the page, with a caption below. There is unrelated text/photos on the back of this print. The print has a fold in the middle, where it was folded into the magazine long ago. Note that the fold line is clean and undamaged, because it was “tipped” into the binding. This was a luxury binding technique of that era, because the double page prints were free of binding holes down the center. The print has a smudge on the caption over the word “THE”. This is for a fantastic antique wooden mallet. It has wonderful old blue paint on one side. Has been well used & shows its many years of intended use. It measures approximately 14 inches long. The head of mallet measures 7 1/2 inches in length by 4 inches wide. It is in wonderful used & age appropriate condition. Has scattered paint speckles on handle, drying line, water staining & some wood loss on one end along with incredible wear from use. Please see pictures for more details.
