ORIGINAL 1950’S STUFFED CARNIVAL PRIZE MEASURING APPROX: 51″ TALL X 24″ WIDE X 10 DEEP. HAS MANUFACTURES TAG STILL ATTACHED BUT HARD TO MAKE OUT SINCE THE WRITING IS SO SMALL. TAG SAYS MADE IN OHIO. SHOWS SOME WEAR/TARE WITH A FEW HOLES AROUND STITCHING FROM AGE. ALSO HAS SOME STAINS, AND WEAR/TARE TO MATERIAL, THE BOTTOM BUTTON ON THE FRONT LOOKS TO BE PARTLY TORN OFF, HAS COSMETIC WEAR WITH LINT, SOME WEAR TO THE FUZZY HAIR, ETC FROM MANY YEARS OF STORAGE. RARE & EARLY CIRCUS CDV – LONG BEARDED PERFORMER ADAM KERPEN – CHICAGO BACKMARK – You are considering one of the rarer long bearded sideshow performers, Mr. This is one of the rarer views of Kerpen. The image and mount are in excellent antqiue condition. The backside has the Chicago backmark on the mount. A great addition for your American Circus photo collection. CONDITION: Please view my detailed photos for the actual condition of the image and as part of my description. The CDV is in excellent antique condition. THIS IS A VERY RARE ANTIQUE FIRST MODEL, TWO PART HEAD WITH PAPIER MACH FACE CLOWN, FROM THE VERY START OF THE SCHOENHUT HUMPTY DUMPTY CIRCUS IN 1903. HE IS IN ALL ORIGINAL CONDITION. HE HAS THE EARLY TWO PART FACE WITHOUT EARS WHICH IS HOW THEY WERE FIRST MADE, EARS CAME LATER. HE ALSO HAS THE EARLY FEET THAT ARE ROUNDED AND UPTURNED AT THE ENDS. HE IS IN PLAYED WITH, BUT GOOD, SOUND CONDITION, BUT HE IS 120 YEARS OLD! DESPITE THIS HIS STRINGING IS GOOD AND HE POSES WELL. HE IS 9/ 22.5 cm TO THE TOP OF HIS HAT. HIS COSTUME IS GRUBBY AND WORN IN PLACES AS YOU WOULD EXPECT AFTER 120 YEARS. HIS LADDER IS VERY OLD BUT THERE IS NO WAY OF TELLING HOW OLD, ie 1903 or a bit later, BUT IT IS NOT A MODERN ONE. The Schoenhut Piano Company in Philadelphia, PA made all sorts of toys and dolls starting in the 1870s. They are very well made, durable toys – many made from hand-carved wood – and most are posable. This is a rare and unique set of antique Schoenhut Humpty Dumpty Circus Donkeys. They are a great addition to any vintage toy collection. This is a RARE, ANTIQUE. AN EARLY, FIRST MODEL c1906, (when monkeys were first introduced)TWO PART FACE MONKEY, IN VERY GOOD ORIGINAL PLAYED WITH CONDITION and the Ladder is included in the price. He is one of the earliest pieces from the Schoenhut Humpty Dumpty Circus which was first made in the U S A in 1903. He has;- A two part face ; original ears ; original silk hat trimmed with gold braid ; original tail; original costume which the moths have chewed a bit! It would have to be listed and take a week or two. He is 8.5/ 21.5 cm tall to the top of his hat. His stringing is good and he poses well. NB He has had his left foot repaired at the front which has been taken into account for the price. However I will consider sensible offers. PLEASE EXAMINE THE PHOTOS CAREFULLY AS THEY DO FORM PART OF THE DESCRIPTION. ALSO THEY WILL ALWAYS REQUIRE A SIGNATURE.
